Karis met her husband Thomas at Oklahoma State University, where she studied Hospitality Management and Spanish. They married in 2011, then spent a semester ministering in the Middle East after graduating in 2012. They moved to Texas in 2013 and have two precious daughters. Karis has always loved cross-cultural interaction, whether in Spain as an exchange student, in college with international students, in the Middle East while studying Arabic, or in Dallas working with the refugee community. She has many years of experience in non-profit administration, and is thrilled to be able to join the work God is doing through New City Fellowship as He brings people of many nations together to worship Him.
Rev. Robbie Mills
Pastor / Church Planter
Robbie and Kelly met during college at Wake Forest University. After graduating, they moved to Washington DC where their lives were changed by a church-plant called GraceDC. In this "start-up" church, the message of Christianity became real and the gospel of Jesus Christ had transformative impact in their lives. Soon after they were married in 2009 and moved to St. Louis to attend Covenant Theological Seminary. During seminary the Mills joined another church-plant - New City Fellowship - where they were taught to cultivate and savor life in God’s kingdom, alongside refugee families from Africa and Asia. In 2014, the Mills were called to Boston where Robbie served as a Church-Planting Apprentice of Christ the King Newton and was ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). In 2016, the Mills were called by the Southwest Church Planting Network to plant a church among refugees and residents in Northeast Dallas. They moved to Texas and have been building relationships and ministries to make that vision a reality. The Mills have one lively daughter named Elise.
